Planning for the Future of Aging in Parker
The Town of Parker recently completed a Senior Center Feasibility Study to evaluate how well the Parker Senior Center meets community needs and identify strategies for long-term service delivery. Conducted between October 2025 and June 2026, the study examined demographics, facility conditions, operations, finances, program demand and community feedback. It also assessed service delivery models to guide future planning and investment. More than 665 surveys were completed, with additional input gathered through outreach events and stakeholder meetings. The study found that nearly one in four Parker residents is age 55 or older, with that portion projected to grow through 2030. Nearly 90% of survey respondents supported additional resources to maintain or enhance senior programs and facilities. Senior Center program participation increased nearly 22% in 2025, with visitation data showing growing demand from Parker and surrounding areas. The facility assessment also identified limited program space and storage, accessibility gaps and a lack of dedicated fitness areas. The study recommends maintaining the Town’s partnership with the Senior Center while improving coordination among service providers., shared-use opportunities or additional locations to serve Parker’s growing older adult population.
