One of the most enjoyable reasons to join Parker Senior Center is to participate in our bus trips! Our Trip Coordinators spend numerous hours planning visits to fun places and great restaurants, so you don’t have to plan the date or time, worry about parking or how to get there and best of all-you don’t have to drive!
 
Please share with us why you go on trips at Parker Senior Center and what it means to you to have this program. Your testimonial will help us in planning for the future of the trip program and can be used to apply for future grants for a new bus. Debbie, you state it very well why we enjoy the PSC bus trips. Lots of fun events either way no worries about how to get there, don’t have to get tickets, just choose a day, and the driving and parking are taken care of. Added benefits - getting to spend time with friends.

I joined the Parker Senior Center specifically to be able to go on the bus trips. At this time, I’m only able to do the weekend events and enjoy actually having someone else drive to the event since I recently moved to Colorado. I am not totally familiar yet with all the ways to get around the area. I also enjoy the socialization that does happen on the bus trips. It is a great service to anyone that is a senior.

I have really enjoyed the trips that I have been on. I can tell that the coordinators really know about where we are going, a little information about what we will be doing/seeing, and of course, where we will eat.  I can’t wait to go on another trip in the future.

Bettie and I ride a lot. We usually choose two or three trips, but we have not lately because of my summer surgery(s). We love the bus, and all the drivers. The convenience is WONDERFUL. We will be back doing more trips soon. The bus trips just might be the very best thing about PSC. And I ain’t lying.

I have been on several trips on the Senior Center Bus. It is an awesome way to see many interesting places that I would not think about visiting or be able to drive to myself.  It's a great way to meet new people or get to know some of the regular patrons of the Center. I always have a wonderful time visiting with my fellow bus mates. And always enjoy the food that's involved in all the trips. Some food is a new experience, but most are all-time favorites!!! The coordinators are all to be commended for all the work involved to make these trips such a delight for us! Thank you to each and every one for all you do.

Love taking the bus trips with the PSC. The trips are varied and cover a lot of different places. Like the fact that it's... "Take the bus and leave the driving to us."  The trips are well planned. Every trip went off as planned and if there was a slight glitch it was handled professionally. The trips are such a popular event it's getting harder to sign up. The new procedure is an improvement, and we'll see how it goes going forward.
Yes, a second bus would be great.

I like taking the bus for the exact reasons that you stated. It is convenient. I love the fact that I don’t have to worry about tickets. Everything is taken care of for me. I enjoy it fully.

I enjoy going on bus trips with the Parker Senior Center because I don’t drive much outside of Parker, CO. These organized trips give me the chance to visit places I wouldn’t otherwise get to see. But most importantly, they give me the opportunity to socialize with other seniors. As a widow, it means a lot to be able to spend time with others and feel connected.

My husband no longer drives, so I particularly enjoy being able to leave the driving to someone else when we go on field trips with the Parker Senior Center.

Going on these trips is an excellent way to make new friends. It’s the perfect setting for discussing issues we all have in common at this stage in life, and share experiences that might be beneficial to others.

There is definitely far more demand than our present vehicles can accommodate.

I joined PSC about 3 yrs. ago. Mainly because of the bus trips. My vision is limited, and I would not be able to drive long distances. So,I really appreciate our wonderful bus driver's . Also out trip coordinators who work so hard to plan & carry out each trip.

I also enjoy meeting new people & making new friends with each new adventure. I feel that it is quite a privilege to have a service provided to seniors who may never have had the opportunity to see our natural wonders.

I enjoy the bus trips so much! They are about the only thing I do with the senior center. Like many of us on the trip we live alone so it’s great for me to be around other people. And there is such a wonderful variety of places that we get to visit. Being able to go on these trips is important for my mental health. Plus, I get exercise!

I have been on many bus trips with the Parker Senior Center. This has allowed me to explore many places in Colorado that I did not even know about. The trips are very diverse and there is something for everyone. The bus trips have allowed me to socialize and make new friends. These activities are very important to me. I cannot thank the Parker Senior Center enough for these opportunities to meet new people and see many new places.

Sorry I’m late with this reply to your email, but did want to say how much my husband (Wynne) and I enjoy the bus trips that are arranged by the Parker Senior Center’s Trip Coordinators. 

This year is our first year as members of PSC, and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed the bus trips we’ve been fortunate enough to take. As being new to Colorado, we’ve been able to enjoy the diversity and beauty of this State by way of the bus trips offered by PSC. Not only that, but discovering the many local attractions, and restaurants, that the Parker area has to offer. 

The bus trips have been not only thoroughly enjoyable, but also educational, and we appreciate all the planning, time involvement, and the dedication of the Trip Coordinators. They are the best, as without them, there wouldn’t be any bus trips. 

As you say in your email, “we don’t have to plan the date or time, worry about parking or how to get there and best of all-you don’t have to drive!” I would also like to add that the bus fares, admission costs etc., to all these wonderful attractions are so very reasonable. Thank you Trip Coordinators! 

Also, not forgetting our wonderful volunteers who do the driving to all these events and keep us safe on the roads - a huge thank you!

Wynne and I eagerly look forward to seeing what bus trips are offered every month. Our son and his family are amazed we’ve been able to see so much in such a short time of moving to Parker, but without the PSC, that wouldn’t have happened. We are so very grateful for the PSC, its staff, volunteers, and all it has to offer. It has made our move here so much more enjoyable! Thank you all!

In a nutshell, we love the PSC bus trips very much! Our testimonials are:

1). We’ve been living in Colorado since 1977 and had visited many places when younger. And a lot of trip coordinators planned trips are attracted to us that we enjoy going;

2). We vividly remember back in 1970s, Greyhound bus had a commercial that said, “Go Greyhound and just leave the driving to us”. This is exactly how we feel now that we’ve gotten older (just leave the driving to our PSC bus drivers); and

3). We enjoy socializing with the bus trip participants. Each time we came back from a bus trip, we felt our friendship with our friends had been enhanced.

I love to ride the PSC bus because it means I don't have to figure out a plan to go somewhere new to me. I don't have to drive and I don't have to worry about parking. I pay my fee and I go on an adventure with folks that I know. It's alway a great time and food is almost alway involved! Learning about new restaurants and eateries is part of the fun!
